Lighting control is utilised in disability and aged care in lots of different ways, making it a crucial part of Smart Assistive Technology. We are able to link lighting into motion sensors so that lights will turn on when walking into a room and turn off when walking out. We can connect lighting to bed sensors so that when someone gets into bed all the lights turn off and when they get out a safe pathway out of the bedroom turns on.
We can also use lighting for deaf or hearing impaired clients to notify them of events such as visitors at the door or that the phone is ringing. Lighting can be installed into new premises easily and now with wireless technology advancements it can be retrofitted into almost any property.
